Sun City Early Bird Lions Club -- Arizona

Sun City Early Bird Lions, founded in 1974, is an independent club under the umbrella of Lions Clubs International.  LCI is the largest service club in the world with over 1.3 million members in 205 countries.  Like all Lions everywhere our motto is "We Serve."

What We Do

The Early Birds meet every first and third Friday at Casa del Rio, 12751 N Plaza Del Rio Blvd, Peoria, AZ 85381 (south of Thunderbird on 94th Drive,) at 7:30 AM.  (We go dark in the summer months allowing our members time to return home or travel.  Snow Birds are welcome.)

During our meetings we enjoy breakfast, plan our  activities and listen to an interesting speaker chosen from a wide range of resources.  

 In the past some of our activities for fund raising have included:

     - Working at Phoenix Int'l Raceway for NASCAR

     -  Holiday Candy Sales

     -  White Canes

     -  Delivering home owner directories in Sun City

     -  Delivering "Sun Life Magazine"

Money raised goes toward many charitable institutions in this area as well as to Lions Club International Foundation.

We also have various service projects throughout the year collecting food for local food banks, selling gift cards from Fry's etc.

Many of us feel very grateful to be able to enjoy our Arizona life style.  Lionism gives us many opportunities to help repay some of the blessings we have received by doing good deeds for the less fortunate people of our community, country and world.
